I've been using Microsoft Digital Image Standard Editor now discontinued for several years on my desktop. It has a lot more options than Paint and the basic photo manipulation tools in Windows7 that I've seen. Can I copy it to my new laptop with Windows7 to use there, too? If not, what are some comparable software packages I can look at that aren't as expensive as going the whole way up to PhotoShop? From where did you buy it? Do you have the setup files of that software?

Since it is not compatible you may install it in Windows XP SP2 compatibility and it should run smoothly. Right click on the setup file. Go to properties. Click on Compatibility mode.

Place a check mark on "Run as an Administrator" under privileges level and click on Apply and then Ok. Now double click on the setup file to initiate the install. I would also recommend you to download Windows Live Gallery which is a new Imaging suite from Microsoft and it's free to download.

Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. You may be able to install it on Windows 10, digittal you install in Compatibility Mode, but there's no guarantee that it will work properly on Windows 10, if it works at all.

There are very many newer applications that not only replace DI but do a much better job. Many are free. So far it has been working fine for me. I know there are lots of other applications that can diigital DI and that many people freee that they do a lot better job.

User's post on October 26, In /30131.txt to ukbigfoot's post on January 5, I went back to a solution in Microsoft answers that I ran across about a year ago. Digital Image is back up and running fine again. Give it a try. This site in other languages x.
